In a statement, Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoumi lauded the success of Arab women in many sectors, particularly in diplomacy. He noted that a number of Arab women are working in high-level diplomatic positions and that many female envoys worldwide are excellent figureheads for their nations “as a result of their capability and worth.”

The speaker said that the International Day of Women in Diplomacy “openly affirms that women have enthusiastically served their state internally and externally” and called for more efforts to benefit from Arab women’s skills and qualifications in support of diplomatic work in the region.

He applauded and thanked Arab women diplomats for their great and valuable participation in their countries’ foreign policies and the defense of their interests abroad.
