JEDDAH: Saudi motorcycle stunt rider Mohammed Ibrahim Scotch has successfully set a new world record for a motorcycle wheelie on ice, entering the Guinness World Records 2023 edition. The 39-year-old accomplished the feat by completing 14 circles in one minute while riding on one wheel of his Kawasaki ZX-6R. The record-breaking attempt took place at an ice hall in Jeddah, showcasing Scotch’s exceptional skill and determination.
Scotch shared that he had been preparing for this record attempt for approximately two years. Expressing his pride in achieving this milestone, he highlighted that the accomplishment carries the name of Saudi Arabia, his home country. The idea originated in 2017, and after thorough research and communication with Guinness World Records officials, he discovered that no one in the world had achieved this particular record.
Journey of Saudi Stunt Rider
The stunt rider emphasized the journey of rebuilding the project from scratch after obtaining approval from Guinness World Records. He designed studded tires and worked out the variables for his motorbike to navigate the challenge successfully.
Upon receiving the official confirmation from Guinness World Records, Scotch expressed his disbelief and joy. He shared the news with his family and friends, expressing gratitude for their support throughout the process.
Having started riding and performing stunts at the age of 16, Scotch turned professional in 2013 and has participated in various international stunt competitions in Bulgaria, Egypt, and the UAE. In early 2022, he became a certified trainer with the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation.
Scotch’s recent achievement has garnered recognition from the federation’s chairman, Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal. Looking ahead, Scotch aims to set more records, further contributing to the elevation of Saudi Arabia’s name on the international stage.
