JEDDAH: The Saudi Roads General Authority (RGA) has launched a new mobile station service for Hajj pilgrims travelling along the Makkah-Madinah Highway.
The initiative seeks to ensure greater comfort and safety for pilgrims in case of bus malfunctions.
The launch was attended by the Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the RGA Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
Operating 24/7 during the Hajj season, each mobile station can serve up to 40 pilgrims at a time. These stations are fully equipped with air conditioning, restrooms, cold beverages, and free meals.
This initiative reflects the authority’s strong commitment to providing the highest standards of comfort and safety for pilgrims travelling between Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has enhanced its efforts to deliver religious awareness to pilgrims participating in this year’s Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Programme for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit.
This initiative is part of the ministry’s broader mission to ensure that pilgrims perform their rituals correctly, in accordance with Islamic teachings.
Throughout the Hajj season, a range of field programmes are being implemented. These include guidance sermons, scholarly lessons, and 24/7 responses to Sharia-related inquiries via dedicated phone lines.
Additionally, the ministry distributes printed awareness materials, informational brochures, and translated meanings of the Holy Quran in multiple languages, all provided to pilgrims upon their arrival at their accommodations.
