RIYADH: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority has signed an agreement with the Health Endowment Fund to establish an emergency fund for sustained emergency medical services in the Kingdom.
The initiative aims to boost the readiness of the emergency medical system and raise the efficiency of responses to medical emergencies, within a framework of institutional integration that aligns with goals to improve healthcare sector performance and save lives, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
Under the agreement, an emergency fund will be established dedicated to financing emergency medical activities and services, as well as facilitating the collection of endowment and non-endowment donations in line with approved regulatory and Sharia frameworks.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening the long-term operational readiness of emergency medical services.
The partnership seeks to channel the fund’s returns toward supporting priority critical response programmes and improving the efficiency of emergency case management, leading to faster response times, enhanced service quality, and ultimately, the saving of lives.
