RIYADH: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen has restored the 5 km Mateef Road, southeast of Hadibo, in cooperation with the local authority in Socotra, to the benefit of over 150 families.
Governor of Socotra Raafat Al-Thaqali lauded the role played by the Kingdom Saudi Arabia (KSA) to restore and advance basic services.
Saudi Program Reopens Mateef Route for Yemeni Families
He added that it would support families move travel and also enable tourists to visit the region and enjoy the beauty of its shores.
The sheikh of Mateef region, Saleh Saad, appreciated efforts to reopen the route, which links the region to the capital city, Hadibo.
The program has executed 229 development projects and steps in several Yemeni governorates, serving the Yemeni citizens in the sectors of education, energy, health, transport, water, agriculture and fisheries.
