Saudi Prince Elected as IESF President

BUSAN: Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has been elected as president of the International Esports Federation (IESF), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

According to the SPA, the development came at the Extraordinary General Meeting held in the Korean city of Busan. Prince Faisal was elected by majority of members and his presidential term will run through 2025.

He was appointed as Acting President of IESF on October 3, 2023. Prince Faisal has played a vital role in growing esports in Saudi Arabia and will contribute to achieving the federation’s goals of sustaining and empowering the sector worldwide.

IESF Secretary General Boban Totovski in his remarks expressed his excitement about this new chapter for IESF.

He said the next edition of the World Esports Championships will be held in Riyadh, in 2024. He added there is no one better to lead the IESF than Prince Faisal. Totovski praised Prince Faisal for his dedication to esports terming them unmatched.
