Saudi Permanent Representative to OIC Welcomes ISF’s New Executive Director

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Saleh Al-Suhaibani, welcomed the newly appointed Executive Director of the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF), Mohammed Suleiman Aba Al-Khail, during a meeting held in Jeddah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

During the meeting, Al-Suhaibani extended his congratulations to Aba Al-Khail on his appointment as the executive director of ISF. The fund is recognized as one of the OIC’s most significant institutions, supporting humanitarian and development initiatives. It serves as the relief arm of the organization, implementing various development projects and programs.

ISF’s efforts commended

Al-Suhaibani commended ISF’s efforts in providing aid to countries in need, particularly in OIC member states facing crises. He also praised the fund’s outstanding work in sustainable investment endowments and its commitment to assisting beneficiaries.

The meeting addressed ISF’s key projects, including emergency donations, its role in supporting universities, women, children, as well as initiatives related to schools, mosques, and hospitals. They also discussed the fund’s support for Muslim youth and its assistance to countries worldwide.

Since its inception, ISF has supported 127 countries with approximately $250 million, with emergency aid provided to African, Arab, Asian, and Western nations totaling $56,537,052. Furthermore, the fund has sponsored 145 universities and colleges worldwide with funding exceeding $90 million.

The ISF headquarters is in Jeddah, the deputy chairman of the fund is the permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the OIC.
