Saudi Passport, Railways Prepared for Smooth Umrah in Holy Ramadan

RIYADH: The General Directorate of Passports of Saudi Arabia has announced its readiness to receive Umrah pilgrims at the country’s border crossing points during the holy month of Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

The directorate streamlined process for speedy arrival and departure procedures.

It stressed that all passport offices at border crossing points have qualified staff and other equipment such as translation devices and mobile passport processing desks.

The directorate also unstressed the importance of adhering to regulations and instructions from arrival to perform Umrah till departure.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia Railways has also announced the readiness of the Haramain High Speed Railway for pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadan.

All operational plans have been completed, and the high-speed railway is ready for visitors at different locations between Makkah and Madinah.

The authorities said that over 2,700 train trips are available during the month of Ramadan. They said seat availability of the train has also been increased to 26 percent, exceeding 1.3 million.

Saudi Arabia Railways remains committed to work with its partners for smooth journey for pilgrims. It said that its measures are aligned with the leadership’s focus on integrated services for visitors to the holy sites.

The company added that the trains during Ramadan are prepared for increased capacity with additional staff and trips. It said train schedules will be adjusted with prayer times in Makkah and Madinah.
