HANGZHOU: The Saudi national teams continue their active participation in the 19th Asian Games in China, scheduled to continue until October 8th in Hangzhou, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
According to the SPA, the Saudi under-23 football team have secured a place in the 2nd round by finishing as the runner-up in Group II with 7 points. This followed their 3-1 win over Vietnam at Linpeng Sports Center Stadium in Huzhou on Sunday.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is set to face the Indian side in the next qualifying round by next Thursday.
In tennis, Saudi athlete Ammar Al-Haqbani advanced to the men’s singles 32nd round of the contest by defeating Qatar’s Rashid Nayef. Ammar is set to play against Chinese Zhizhen Zhang on Monday.
