MAKKAH: The Holy Quran Museum in Saudi Arabia showcases the world’s largest handwritten copy of the Holy Quran.

The Muslims holy book has also earned recognition from the Guinness World Records, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The manuscript has 700 pages and measures 312 to 220 centimeters.

The visitors are taking special interest in the manuscript, which, according to them, is the extra ordinary display of Islamic calligraphy.

This is the enlarged reproduction of a 16th-century Quran preserved at the King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries.

The Quran is mostly written in Thuluth script, while Surah Al-Fatiha is rendered in Naskh.

It is known as a remarkable example of Islamic calligraphy reflecting the exceptional skill and mastery of Islamic art during that era.

The Holy Quran is the central religious text of Islam, which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) over 23 years.

Written in Arabic, it serves as a comprehensive guide for life, covering aspects of faith, morality, law, and personal conduct.
