First Gulf Designer to Secure Spot on Paris Haute Couture Week Calendar

Adding to the excitement, Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi made history by becoming the first Gulf designer to secure a spot on the official Paris Haute Couture Week calendar. Ashi, joining the ranks of prestigious labels like Dior, Chanel, and Valentino, is scheduled to present his collection on Thursday morning. In a statement shared on Instagram, Ashi expressed his gratitude for this milestone opportunity and vowed to honor the great couturiers who preceded him.

While the official calendar boasts an impressive lineup, notable designers Rami Al-Ali from Syria and Tony Ward, an Italian Lebanese designer, will also unveil their latest couture collections in Paris this week. Al-Ali drew inspiration from celebrated French artist Henry Matisse’s organic graphic shapes and contrasting colors, while Tony Ward’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, titled “Under My Skin,” showcased his signature glittering offerings that are adored by celebrities.

Paris Haute Couture Week continues to captivate the fashion world, showcasing the ingenuity and craftsmanship of renowned designers while providing a platform for emerging talents. With Saudi Arabia’s prominent presence this year, the event further highlights the region’s growing influence in the global fashion industry.
