Saudi Minister Will Attend King Charles Coronation on Behalf of King Salman

RIYADH: The Saudi Minister of State will represent King Salman at the coronation of the UK King, Arab media reported on Thursday. According to Arab News, Saudi Minister Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd reached in London today. As per the British media, the coronation of Charles III will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday. The ceremony service will be carried out by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Buckingham Palace said.  It may be recalled that for the first time, religious leaders of Muslims, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist and Jews will also play a key active role in the event.

However, US President Joe Biden will not attend the ceremony of Charles III. Reports said that the US first lady will attend the ceremony in London. Earlier, the former US President Donald Trump also strongly criticized President Biden for not attending the coronation of Charles III.

BBC reported that the guest list includes Pakistan Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, the UK PM, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President, and the European Commission President. King Charles’s coronation ceremony comes 70 years following the coronation of his late mother. As per the history, more than 8,000 people and over 129 countries attended the coronation ceremony of Charles’s mother in 1953. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Ali Bogra also attended that ceremony and represented Pakistan in coronation of the then queen.
