CAIRO: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh has visited Al-Azhar University on the sidelines of the 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Cairo, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
According to the SPA, Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh met with President of Al-Azhar University Dr. Salama Dawoud, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini and several university officials.
The SPA reported that Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh was briefed on the university’s colleges and departments and discussed cooperation in different scientific and research fields with the university officials.
The minister lauded Al-Azhar University’s efforts in promoting the values of moderation in the world, expressing his gratitude to the Al-Azhar institution as a whole and looking forward to further cooperation in different scientific fields for the benefit of the two nations.
Dr. Dawoud also noted the depth of the relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Egypt, emphasizing the significance of the Kingdom’s participation in the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs conference and its pioneering role in promoting the approach of Islamic moderation. Dr. Dawoud presented Sheikh Al Al-Sheikh with Al-Azhar University’s shield.
