Saudi Minister Keen to Enhance Investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Investment Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih has expressed willingness to further boost investment in Pakistan.

He made the remarks during a G2G Roundtable Conference between Saudi investors’ delegation and members of the federal cabinet in Islamabad on Friday.

The Saudi Minister said Pakistan offers vast investment opportunities. He added that meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior Pakistani officials were very productive and will yield positive results.

He expressed satisfaction over his visit to Pakistan and agreed to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

Pakistani Ministers during the conference expressed gratitude to Saudi government and assured the Saudi Minister for Investment of full cooperation.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said Pakistan’s economy is moving towards stability and all indicators in this regard are positive.

Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik said Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is inconsonance with economic priorities of Pakistan.

Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan in his remarks said Pakistan will extend all possible support to Saudi Arabia’s business community for investment.

Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan added the enhanced linkages between business communities of the two nations will give a new boost to bilateral trade, especially in leather, textile, food and other sectors. He said a 30-member Pakistani trade delegation will pay a visit to Saudi Arabia next month.

Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja briefed the conference regarding the government’s e-governance and digitization measures.
