RIYADH: A Saudi medical team conducted a complex 16-hour surgery on Thursday to separate conjoined Tanzanian twins, Arab media reported. The surgery took place under the supervision of leading pediatric surgeon Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, KSrelief head.
Saudi Medical Team Separate Tanzanian Conjoined Twins
The medical and surgical team separated Hussein and Hassan aged 2, at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in the King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.
The operation lasted about 16 hours over 9 phases, with 35 specialists, consultants, technical, nursing and support staff taking part.

The twins arrived from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in August for various medical tests and examinations to the Kingdom. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a world leader in one of the such complex surgical procedures in modern medicine.
