RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held a phone call on Monday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Mohamad Haji Hasan and discussed bilateral ties and global developments.
During the call, they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them in various fields, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
They also reviewed regional and international developments of common interest.
It is pertinent to mention that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan visited Malaysia in May this year to attend the second Gulf Cooperation Council–Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
Malaysia and Saudi Arabia enjoy close brotherly relations rooted in our common faith and derive their strength from a shared vision and commonality of interest. Saudi Arabia is one of the countries that sent its representatives during Malaysia’s proclamation of independence on Aug. 31, 1957.
Trade and investment remain the major cornerstones of both countries. Every year, thousands of Malaysians visit Makkah and Madinah to perform Umrah and Hajj.
