Saudi Leadership Directs KSrelief to Operate Air Bridge to Support Quake-Hit Morocco

RIYADH: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud have directed King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to operate an air bridge for dispatching relief aid items to mitigate the effects of Friday’s earthquake on the citizens of Morocco, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.

According to the SPA, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, the advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the KSrelief indicated that the aid and help provided show the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to stand by the Moroccan people and leadership through alleviating the effects of the shocking earthquake, which led to huge loss of life and property in Morocco.

Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah noted that as per the generous royal directives, a Saudi search and rescue team under the General Directorate of Civil Defense, along with teams from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority led by KSrelief, would be also actively engaged in relief and humanitarian operations in the African country.

The SPA cited Dr. Al-Rabeeah as saying the search and rescue team’s mission is to rescue those trapped and provide help to those affected by the quake that has distressed the brotherly people of Morocco.

Additionally, he extended his sincere thanks to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their noble and unsurprising positions, which reflect the humanitarian commitment of Saudi Arabia in aiding the afflicted and needy worldwide during various hardships and crisis. _SPA
