RIYADH: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, has sent a cable of congratulations to King Frederik X of Denmark on his accession to the throne, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
In his cable the Saudi King wished for success to the Danish king, hoping for continued progress and prosperity for Denmark.

The SPA reported that Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, in a sperate cable, congratulated King Frederik X of Denmark on the occasion of his accession to the throne.
He extended his wishes for success to the Danish king, hoping for continued progress and prosperity for the country.
Denmark witnessed a historic transition on Sunday as Queen Margrethe abdicated the throne after a remarkable 52-year reign, making way for her son, King Frederik X. More than 100,000 Danes gathered in the streets of Copenhagen to witness the unprecedented event.
In a final procession through the capital in a horse-drawn carriage, the 83-year-old queen concluded her reign by signing a declaration of abdication at Christiansborg Palace. This marks the first abdication in Denmark in 900 years, automatically ushering in her son as the new monarch.
