Saudi King, Crown Prince Open Charity Drive with Donations

RIYADH:  Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman  have opened the 3rd national drive for charitable work with donations of SR40 million and SR30 million, respectively, Arab media reported on Tuesday.

Reports said that by 2 a.m.  today the total amount donated exceeded than SR443 million. The drive initiated 11 p.m. on Monday, following it was endorsed by the king of KSA.

Chief Executive of the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan) Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Husseini said the drive, which coincides with the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, would accept donations from firms and people for the remainder of Ramadan through the Ehsan.sa website.

Saudi energy firm Aramco had contributed SR30 million, and ROSHN pitched in with SR25 million.

The drive aims to further strengthen the culture of donation within the KSA and support poor people as per the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The CEO said the Ehsan platform would be available for donations 24 hours during the drive.
