A magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit Syria and Turkiye early on Monday, collapsing thousands of buildings including apartment blocks, hospitals, and leaving thousands of people homeless and wounded.

Rescue teams and aid poured into Syria and Turkiye on Tuesday as rescue teams are working in cold dug through the remains of buildings trampled by a powerful quake. The death toll climbed above 6,200 and is still feared to rise.
