Makkah: A specialised surgical team at Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Medical City has successfully removed colon tumors from two patients using state-of-the-art robotic surgery.
Providing rapid relief through the Urgent Care Pathway, a key component of the Saudi healthcare model, this advanced procedure minimised complications and accelerated recovery, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
According to the medical city, robotic surgery represents one of the most advanced surgical technologies globally.
It allows surgeons exceptional precision, enhanced access to delicate areas, preservation of surrounding tissues, and a significant reduction in blood loss. These advantages make it a highly effective choice, especially for complex surgical cases.
This milestone highlights King Abdullah Medical City’s ongoing commitment to adopting cutting-edge medical technologies to improve patient care.
It also reflects the institution’s dedication to providing integrated, advanced healthcare in line with international standards, supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
