Saudi Government Ensures Workers’ Full Rights: Envoy

ISLAMABAD: Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, while highlighting the important role of workers in developing societies, said on Thursday that it was the basis for an industrial, urban, and commercial renaissance for all countries in the world.

Addressing an event held by the Saudi Embassy in connection with ‘World Workers’ Day’ the other day, the envoy expressed appreciation for workers worldwide and congratulated all those hardworking people who had made sacrifices in building and developing societies.

The envoy said that the government and the public in Saudi Arabia looked upon workers in all sectors with appreciation and respect.

He said the leadership of Saudi Arabia was committed to implementing laws to protect workers and ensure that they received their due rights.

Envoy on Pakistani workers

Citing the example of the nearly 2 million workers from Pakistan currently working on development projects in the country, the ambassador said their presence was a testament to the depth of ties between the two nations and their mutual respect.

He said that the Pakistani workers’ presence had significantly supported Pakistan’s economy through remittances to their home country.

The ambassador further said that the workers’ contributions had been highly valued by the people and leadership, reflecting the two countries’ close relations and mutual interests.

The envoy’s statement highlighted the importance of workers’ contributions to society and their significance in shaping countries’ development.
