ADEN: The Emergency Cholera Response Project in Yemen, supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), provided medical assistance to 14,336 individuals between February 25 and March 3, 2026.

As part of ongoing efforts to combat the spread of Cholera, the initiative delivered a wide range of healthcare services, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.

These included comprehensive health screenings at key entry points such as airports in Aden, Seiyun, and Al Rayyan, as well as border crossings including Al Wadiah, Al Hafiyah, and Razih. During this period, 28 suspected cholera cases were identified.

The project focuses on the regions most affected by the outbreak, aiming to reduce infection rates and contain the disease through preventive and rapid response measures. Specialised medical teams have been deployed to monitor and screen travellers at both air and land entry points, helping to detect and manage potential cases early.

In addition, KSrelief has supplied health facilities with essential treatment resources, including intravenous and oral rehydration solutions, antibiotics, protective gear, and sterilisation materials. Efforts have also been made to expand the capacity of cholera treatment centres to handle the growing number of patients.

These initiatives are part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian mission, carried out through KSrelief, to strengthen Yemen’s healthcare system, limit the spread of infectious diseases, and protect public health across the country.
