Saudi Foreign Minister Engages in Diplomatic Mission at UN General Assembly

RIYADH: In a mission to address pressing global issues, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, has arrived in New York City to represent King Salman at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

Prince Faisal’s journey took him from Havana, Cuba, where he actively participated in the G77+China Summit on September 16. This voyage highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to engaging with international partners to address critical global challenges.

The 78th UN General Assembly, running from September 18 to 26 convenes amidst growing concerns about the planet’s rapidly increasing temperatures, the worsening of poverty and food insecurity, ongoing conflicts, rising inflation rates, escalating humanitarian needs, and deepening global inequality.

During this assembly, Prince Faisal will play a pivotal role in various official meetings aimed at exploring solutions to these pressing issues. Additionally, he will participate in ministerial gatherings involving the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the League of Arab States. These collaborative discussions exemplify Saudi Arabia’s dedication to regional and international cooperation.

Furthermore, on the sidelines of the General Assembly, Prince Faisal will engage in bilateral meetings with representatives from diverse countries and officials from international organizations actively contributing to the UN’s work during its 78th session.

This diplomatic endeavor underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to being an active and responsible participant in addressing global challenges and working towards a more secure, equitable, and prosperous world for all.
