Saudi Foreign Minister Discusses Gaza Situation with Mexican, Portuguese Counterparts

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has discussed the current situation in Gaza over telephone with Mexican and Portuguese counterparts, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

According to the SPA Prince Faisal during conversation with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico Alicia Barcena praised the Mexico’s support for the United Nations General Assembly resolution issued on Friday, October 27, 2023, which calls for an immediate ceasefire and the urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The two sides discussed the developments of the dangerous situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings.

Prince Faisal stressed the importance of the international community in playing its role to achieve an immediate ceasefire, and returning to the path of peace for the Palestinian cause, in order to achieve global peace and security.

Meanwhile the Saudi Foreign Minister held a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic Joao Gomes Cravinho.

He expressed gratitude for the Portuguese Republic’s support on the United Nations resolution on October 27, 2023. The resolution aims to secure an immediate ceasefire and establish an urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The two sides discussed ways to support all efforts meant to stop the escalation of military operations in Gaza and its surroundings, and prevent the forced displacement of the population of Gaza.

They also discussed the efforts towards introducing humanitarian, relief and medical aid to prevent the worsening of the humanitarian crisis.
