CAIRO: The units of the Saudi Armed Forces have arrived in Egypt to participate in the “Bright Star 2023” exercise, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday. According to the SPA, military exercises will be conducted at Mohamed Naguib Military Base.

The chief of the Training and Development Authority of the Saudi Armed Forces, Major General Adel Al-Balawi, said that the military exercise aims to exchange experiences and coordinate joint work between the participating forces from friendly and brotherly nations.

Major General Adel Al-Balawi maintained that the drill also aims to unify operational concepts and develop the skills of the participating forces. He added the “Bright Star 2023” aims to plan and execute anti-terrorism and irregular warfare operations.
He further said that the exercises will help to enhance logistical support and medical evacuation operations, boost maritime security, and develop operational training methods.
