Saudi FM, Receives Phone Call from US Counterpart Blinken

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has received a phone call from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

According to the SPA the two sides discussed ways to stop the military escalation in Gaza and surrounding areas, and to adhere to any humanitarian truce and ceasefire deal.

They also talked about efforts to facilitate delivery of humanitarian, relief and medical assistance to stop humanitarian crisis.

The SPA citing the Saudi Foreign Ministry statement said that Prince Faisal during the call stressed Saudi Arabia’s strong rejection of the forced displacement of the population of Gaza, and the importance of the global community moving seriously and effectively to confront all the ongoing violations of the Israeli occupation forces, and their repeated violations of international law and international humanitarian law.

He also noted the importance of the global community fulfilling its moral and principled obligation toward adhering to international resolutions, the latest of which was the Security Council resolution last week, in a way that achieves credibility for world order, maintains global peace and security, and prevents the causes of extremism and violence.

Prince Faisal is currently on a tour of capital cities of UN Security Council permanent member states, where he is leading an Arab-Islamic delegation to discuss the situation in Gaza.
