RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan engaged in separate meetings with his Kuwaiti and Jordanian counterparts, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Ayman Safadi, in Cairo on Sunday.

The discussions took place on the sidelines of an Arab League foreign ministers meeting focused on the readmission of Syria to the organization.

During the meetings, Prince Faisal, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and Ayman Safadi deliberated on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

They also exchanged views on the topics discussed at the Arab League meeting and explored avenues to enhance joint coordination for the advancement of international peace and security.

Significance of Saudi, Kuwaiti, and Jordanian FMs’ meeting

The Arab League, in a significant move, officially welcomed the Syrian government back into the organization, ending a suspension that had lasted for more than a decade.

This development marks President Bashar Al-Assad’s return to the Arab fold after years of isolation.

The meetings between the Saudi, Kuwaiti, and Jordanian foreign ministers underscore the importance of diplomatic engagement and coordination among Arab nations to address regional challenges and contribute to collective efforts in maintaining peace and stability.
