Saudi FM Holds Meeting with UK Foreign Secretary: SPA

LONDON: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has held a meeting with United Kingdom Foreign Secretary David Cameron in London, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

The Saudi envoy to the United Kingdom, Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, also attended the meeting. During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed bilateral ties and means to develop them in several sectors, the SPA reported. According to the SPA, the two sides also discussed the recent developments in Gaza and its surroundings and the significance of taking all necessary measures to stop the fighting and ensure that violence does not escalate in order to achieve full protection for civilian population.

The SPA reported that Prince Faisal highlighted during the meeting that the world, especially the permanent members of the UN Security Council, including the United Kingdom, fulfill their responsibilities and duties towards intensifying efforts aimed at a truce and ensure the provision of relief corridors for the immediate delivery of humanitarian food and medical help to Gaza. According to the SPA, in addition, the Foreign Minister focused on creating conditions for the return of stability and the restoration of a comprehensive and just peace process that guarantees the valid rights of the people of Palestine.

David Cameron also held a lunch banquet in honor of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and his accompanying delegation, the SPA maintained. The meeting and the lunch banquet were also attended by the DG of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, the SPA further maintained.
