It may be recalled that earlier this month, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron and discussed efforts being made to achieve security and stability in the region.
They also discussed bilateral ties and ongoing cooperation across various sectors, and discussed several issues of mutual interest.
It is pertinent to mention that in September, Saudi Arabia and France co-chaired a High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York.
Both countries also presented a peace and security plan to the UN General Assembly, formally known as the New York Declaration, which was adopted by a large majority.
