RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty on Monday held talks on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, they reviewed the strong relations and cooperation and discussed topics of common interest, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Later, they co-chaired a high-level meeting between representatives of their countries that focused on the enhancement of mechanisms for cooperation, deeper coordination on responses to regional and international issues, and how best to serve shared interests.
“Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdelatty co-chaired the session of the Political Consultation and Follow-up Committee at the ministerial level between the two countries,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said in a statement on X.

“The session discussed ways to intensify bilateral cooperation across various fields, enhance joint coordination on issues of mutual concern to serve the shared interests of both countries and addressed regional and international developments, foremost among them the situation in the Gaza Strip,” it added.
Undersecretary of the Ministry for Political Affairs, Saud Al-Sati, the Saudi ambassador to Egypt Saleh Al-Hussaini, and the director general of the Foreign Ministry’s General Administration for Arab Countries Ghazi Al-Anzi, were also present on the occasion.
Egypt’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ihab Abu Sarea, and assistant minister of foreign affairs, Ihab Fahmy, also attended the talks.
