ISLAMABAD:  The World Defence Show in Saudi Arabia will host the international launch of IDEAS 2026, scheduled to take place in Pakistan in November this year.

IDEAS provides a strategic forum to showcase Pakistan’s defence capabilities while promoting international cooperation and technology transfer within the defence sector, bringing together global industry leaders, armed forces, government officials, and innovators.

Established in 2000, IDEAS has emerged as one of Asia’s most prominent defence exhibitions, enabling partnerships that support regional security and advance defence manufacturing.

The five-day World Defence Show 2026 will open tomorrow in Riyadh, bringing together countries from across the globe to showcase their latest military technologies and defence systems, state-run Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.

The launch of IDEAS 2026 at the World Defence Show underscores a shared commitment to technology transfer and collaborative defence projects.

The Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO) is playing a key role in strengthening defence exhibitions and promoting international cooperation, further reinforcing Pakistan’s expanding presence and credibility in the global defence arena.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share long-standing, cordial relations spanning several decades, with cooperation across key sectors including defence, trade, economy, agriculture, livestock, and minerals.

In recent years, the two countries have significantly expanded military cooperation through joint exercises, training exchanges, and formal defence agreements, including the signing of a mutual defence cooperation pact last year.

Saudi Arabia continues to be one of Pakistan’s closest defense and security partners in the Middle East, with sustained and comprehensive engagement across the air, land, and naval domains.
