JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Tuesday received Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and discussed regional developments.

During the meeting in Jeddah, they also reviewed aspects of relations between the two countries and opportunities to support and develop them in various fields, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

They also discussed the latest developments in the region and coordinated efforts regarding them.

The meeting was attended by several senior Saudi officials, including Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Musaed Al-Aiban, Advisor at the Royal Court Khalid Hadrawi, and Saudi Ambassador to Syria Faisal Al-Mujfel.

On the Syrian side, attendees included Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shaibani, Chargé d’Affaires at the embassy in Riyadh Mohsen Mahbash, along with a number of other officials.

Al-Sharaa had arrived in Jeddah earlier on Tuesday, where he was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, and other officials.

Saudi Arabia has expanded relief efforts aimed at assisting vulnerable communities in Syria, including the provision of food aid, medical supplies, and support for essential services.

This engagement underscores a commitment to alleviating human suffering and improving living conditions, particularly for displaced families and those affected by years of conflict.

Ongoing coordination also highlights the importance of collective efforts to support stability through humanitarian initiatives that directly benefit the Syrian people.
