RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Prime Minister Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman convened a meeting on Sunday evening with the national security advisers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the United States (US), and India, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
The meeting involved Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Jake Sullivan, Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Ajit Doval, and aimed to discuss the enhancement of ties to promote regional growth and stability.
Senior US officials were also present during the meeting, which sought to advance a shared vision of a more secure and prosperous Middle East region, while also fostering closer ties with India and the international community.
Mr. Sullivan, in addition to participating in the joint meeting, held bilateral discussions with Crown Prince Mohammed, Sheikh Tahnoon, and Mr. Doval to address both bilateral and regional matters.
Furthermore, Mr. Sullivan expressed his anticipation for further consultations with Mr. Doval on the sidelines of the upcoming Quad Summit scheduled later this month in Australia.
Saudi Arabia, US review progress on Issues
During the meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed, Mr. Sullivan reviewed the substantial progress made in discussions to reinforce the 15-month long truce in Yemen.
Both parties welcomed the ongoing efforts led by the United Nations to bring an end to the war. The discussions also encompassed a range of other issues.
Mr. Sullivan expressed gratitude to the Crown Prince for the support extended by Saudi Arabia to facilitate the evacuation of US citizens from Sudan.
The four delegations agreed to maintain regular consultations and follow up on the matters discussed throughout the day.
