RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman held separate telephone conversations on Sunday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, to discuss the ongoing military escalation in the region and its implications for regional and global security, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During his call with President Erdogan, the Turkish leader strongly condemned ‘Iranian aggression’ targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and rejected any actions that undermine its sovereignty and stability.

He also reaffirmed Turkiye’s support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security and protect its citizens.

In a separate conversation, Prince Mohammed received a call from General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council.

The two leaders reviewed the regional situation, with al-Burhan condemning the ‘Iranian aggression against Saudi territory’ and expressing Sudan’s solidarity and support for the Kingdom.

The US and Israel launched an attack on Iran on Saturday, killing several top officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes that hit several Gulf countries.
