Saudi Crown Prince Discusses Gaza Situation with Palestinian President

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have discussed the military escalation in Gaza and its surrounding areas, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

In a phone call they also discussed worsening situation that poses a threat to the lives of civilians and the security and stability of the region.

The Crown Prince in his remarks said that the Kingdom was making all possible effort to contact with all international and regional parties to stop the ongoing escalation and prevent its further spread in the region.

He also stressed the importance of obeying to international humanitarian law and avoiding the targeting of civilians.

The crown prince reiterated that Saudi Arabia continues to stand by the Palestinian people in their quest of their legitimate rights, striving for a honorable life, realizing their hopes and aspirations, and achieving a just and lasting peace.

In response, the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Kingdom, appreciating its steadfast position and the efforts it makes to stand by the Palestinian people and their just cause.

Meanwhile Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also held telephonic conversations with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to review military escalation in Gaza.

In calls it was agreed to intensify global and regional efforts to stop the escalation in Gaza and its surroundings.

The Crown Prince reiterated that the Kingdom stands by the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights, realize their hopes and achieve just and lasting peace.
