RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, arrived in Manama on Wednesday to participate the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

He is heading the Saudi delegation at the summit and is also set to co-chair the fourth meeting of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council.

The Crown Prince is accompanied by Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, and several other high officials.

Earlier during the opening session, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa noted that the summit would address key regional matters and stressed the importance of safeguarding maritime navigation from any potential threats. He also highlighted the need to advance the Gaza peace initiative.

Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, stated that the GCC has managed to navigate challenging regional and global developments. He further reaffirmed the bloc’s condemnation of Israel’s aggression toward Qatar.

The GCC was founded in 1981 and comprises six members, and its headquarters is located in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

Bahrain is welcoming GCC leaders as the member states move into a more advanced stage of cooperation.

The GCC countries have bolstered their position as a regional force with global reach, broadening their partnerships across all sectors.
