JEDDAH: Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman has approved a number of strategic goals to promote eco-tourism and afforestation in the Kingdom by 2030.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the reserve initiative would help the Kingdom to become one of the world’s top eco-tourism destinations and create employment opportunities for local communities.
The crown prince approved the Royal Reserve strategic targets during a meeting of the Royal Council Reserves on Wednesday.

The Royal Reserves cover 13.5 percent of Saudi land, helping to protect more than 30 endangered species of the Kingdom. It would also help Saudi Arabia to meet its afforestation targets of planting more than 80 million trees by 2030.
The Royal Reserves are expected to attract more than 2.3 million visitors annually with rehabilitating about 15 historical places by 2030.
Royal Reserves development authorities was setup to make strategies and plans, and to manage all areas pertaining to the operation and implementation of its activities.
