Saudi Crown Prince Announces Luxury Island Sindhala in NEOM

RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman announced on Monday that Sindalah, the first luxury island destination of NEOM, will play host to top-end apartments and superyachts. It is hoped that his new project will boost the tourism industry in the country.

Sindalah is extended over an area of nearly 840,000sq. miles and is one of a group of islands that will be developed in the mega-giga project.

Sindalah is expected to generate over 3,500 jobs in the hospitality and tourism sector.

The new island is designed to provide a main gateway to the Red Sea and it would be opened for tourists in 2024.

Crown Prince: Special Moment for NEOM

The Crown Prince said in a statement that this project was another special moment for NEOM and a big step in the promotion of the tourism industry in the country under Vision 2030. It will be the first luxury island of NEOM which will become a yacht club destination.

The Crown Prince said that the project will attract tourists and travelers because Sindhala is a scenic gateway to the Red Sea. It will become the most exciting tourism location due to its captivating beauty. The tourists will enjoy the true beauty of Kingdom here.

NEOM’s new project to boost tourism industry

Sindhala will host grand sporting games, sophisticated cultural events and glamourous social celebrations throughout the year. Executive director of hotel development at NEOM Chris Newman told Arab News.

He said that from December to February, the site will offer guests access to cultural events and music concerts. Yachting events will be organized from March to May and October to November. From June to September, recreational activities and family-friendly events will be organized.

 It will have 413 ultra-premium hotel rooms, 86-berth marina and 333 top-end serviced apartments. 38 unique culinary offerings and a luxe beach club will be also available.

NEOM, the 500 billion US dollars smart city, is one of the most important initiatives boosting the Kingdom’s national tourism strategy, as it steadily diversifies its heavily oil dependent economy.
