Saudi, Colombian Foreign Ministers Discuss Urgent Gaza Peace Initiatives

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, held a telephonic conversation with his Colombian counterpart, Alvaro Leyva Duran, reported Saudi Press Agency on Friday. 

During the telephonic discussion, Prince Faisal commended Colombia’s endorsement of the United Nations General Assembly resolution, issued on October 27th, which called for an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of an urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip.

They discussed the evolving situation in Gaza and its surrounding areas, especially in the context of the ongoing military escalation and the adverse impact on innocent civilians. 

Furthermore, they stressed the imperative role of the international community in assuming responsibility for putting an end to all military activities and steering back toward a just and comprehensive pathway to peace for the Palestinian people, with the ultimate goal of fostering international security and peace.
