MAKKAH: The Saudi Bus Guidance Centre for Transporting Pilgrims from Abroad provided services to more than 1.4 million pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season.
It served pilgrims who arrived in Makkah aboard over 38,000 buses as part of its operational and technical plan for the Hajj, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The Director General of the centre, Abdullah Sindi, noted that the centre guided buses are transporting pilgrims using trained guides equipped with smart tablets operating on advanced geolocation mapping systems.
These tools were employed to direct the buses from their arrival at the pilgrims’ reception centre in Al-Nawaria and the Haramain High-Speed Railway station to their accommodation in Makkah.
This intelligent system ensured timely arrivals and was supported by an integrated network of services launched early by the centre to serve the Hajj pilgrims.
