Saudi-Backed Project Clears 1,317 Explosives in Yemen in One Week

RIYADH: The Masam project of the Saudi Aid agency removed 1,317 explosive devices from various parts of Yemen during the second week of June.

The initiative of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) dismantled 1,276 unexploded ordnance items, 38 anti-tank mines, and three explosive devices, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Since the start of the Masam Project, a total of 500,000 explosives have been removed.

The explosives were indiscriminately planted across various areas in Yemen with the intent of inflicting harm on innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
