MAKKAH: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has intensified its efforts within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards on the Day of Ashura to enhance the spiritual experience of the worshipers.
The authority used an integrated system of services aimed at providing care and support to worshippers and visitors, ensuring they can perform their rituals and worship with ease and convenience, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
The authority noted that services provided to visitors of the Grand Mosque included location guidance to facilitate movement within the mosque and its courtyards, a luggage storage service at secure locations for the comfort of worshippers, and designated areas for ending the state of Ihram under the supervision of qualified staff.
Prayer areas were prepared, Zamzam water was distributed across the Grand Mosque’s corridors, and iftar meals were provided to fasting worshippers for their convenience.
Additionally, cleaning and sanitisation efforts were enhanced on Ashura Day to preserve the sanctity of the site and ensure the safety of visitors.
