Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources Concludes Successful Participation in Hajj Season

RIYADH: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has concluded its participation in the Hajj season of 1446 AH, following the implementation of an integrated system of social, organisational, and technical initiatives that significantly contributed to enhancing the efficiency of seasonal work and facilitating the smooth performance of Hajj rituals, in coordination with relevant government entities, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Hospitality

The SPA reported that key services provided by the ministry included hospitality, guidance and counseling, transportation support for the elderly and people with disabilities, and awareness campaigns highlighting available services.

Volunteer efforts during the season totaled more than 152,000 hours, reflecting a marked improvement in service delivery and reinforcing the human and social dimensions of the pilgrim experience, the SPA added.

Digital services

The ministry activated several digital services aimed at facilitating temporary employment and ensuring regulatory compliance.

According to the SPA, more than 43,000 visas were issued through the “Temporary Work Visa for Hajj and Umrah Services” platform, while nearly 40,000 workers benefited from the “Bab Ajeer” service, which spanned over 3,000 establishments.

To ensure compliance and uphold service standards, the ministry conducted over 4,500 inspection tours of operational establishments, aiming to enforce labor regulations, maintain a stable work environment, and enhance the quality of services provided to pilgrims, the SPA reported.
