JEDDAH: Jeddah Historic District attracted 3 million visitors during Ramadan, reflecting the growing turnout for Ramadan events in the area and the diverse cultural programs and heritage experiences that capture the spirit of the holy month and highlight the richness of the region’s cultural and social heritage.
The area witnessed a notable presence of visitors who came to explore its historic architectural landmarks and stroll through its neighborhoods and traditional markets, reports Saudi Press Agency.
There is also a diverse program of Ramadan activities, including tours of historic houses and heritage sites, visits to historic mosques, cultural and artistic events, heritage experiences and traditional markets, as well as activities tailored for families and visitors, all within an atmosphere that reflects the city’s cultural identity.
Organizing the Ramadan season is part of efforts by the Ministry of Culture to revitalize Jeddah Historic District, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The alleys and historic squares of Al-Balad have been transformed into vibrant spaces attracting residents and visitors to enjoy Ramadan experiences that combine cultural heritage, social activities and interactive experiences.
