ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, paid a courtesy visit to Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, on Wednesday in Islamabad.
Ambassador Al-Malkiy extended heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Kakar on assuming his responsibilities, conveying well wishes and greetings from the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, as well as the Saudi people. The visit underscored the depth of the historic ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Kakar expressed his gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s consistent support in promoting Pakistan’s economic stability and development. He highlighted the substantial presence of Pakistani workers in the Kingdom and requested continued facilitation to ensure their well-being. The Prime Minister lauded Saudi Arabia’s visionary leadership and affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to being a steadfast and reliable partner.
Saudi Arabia’s Investments in Pakistan
A focal point of discussion was the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), recently established to expedite foreign investments in Pakistan. The Prime Minister stressed that SIFC would continue to work as before and would lay the foundations to expedite foreign investments, particularly from Saudi Arabia. In this regard, Kakar highlighted energy, agriculture, infrastructure, information technology and manpower as potential sectors of cooperation.
Ambassador Al-Malkiy reaffirmed the enduring fraternal relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, emphasizing the foundation of mutual trust, understanding, and close collaboration on bilateral and regional matters of shared interest.
