Saudi Arabia Witnesses 52% Surge in Commercial Records for Robot Technologies Sector

RIYADH: The robot technologies sector in Saudi Arabia experienced a remarkable growth of 52% in commercial records registered across various regions, reaching 2,344 by the end of the second quarter of 2023. This significant increase reflects the country’s commitment to developing and embracing emerging technologies.

According to the Ministry of Commerce’s business sector bulletin, Riyadh emerged as the leader among Saudi cities in terms of issuing commercial records for the robot technologies sector, with 1,387 records issued in the second quarter of 2023. Makkah followed closely with 491 commercial records, while the Eastern Region issued 269 records during the same period. Additionally, Madinah and Qassim contributed with 76 and 32 commercial records for the sector, respectively.

Robotics as Promising Sector in Saudi Arabia

Robotics is identified as a promising sector in Saudi Arabia, aligning with the goals outlined in the country’s Vision 2030. The Vision highlights the importance of fostering technological advancements and innovation, with sectors like robotics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), logistics services, arts and entertainment, travel, tourism, and conferences identified as key opportunities for the business sector.
