Saudi Arabia Wins Presidency of ACAO Executive Council

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has won the presidency of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) with unanimous support during the 28th Ordinary General Assembly in Rabat, Morocco, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Responding to the development, Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, said that this achievement reflects the Kingdom’s prominent standing in global and regional aviation bodies, emphasizing its pivotal role in civil aviation.

Al-Jasser extended gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for their support to the civil aviation sector. He stressed the importance of bolstering collective Arab efforts in air transport to uphold the highest safety standards.

As a founding member of ACAO, Saudi Arabia has consistently championed the organization’s objectives, actively participating in its executive council and technical committees.

The Kingdom hosts regional headquarters for safety oversight and cooperative aviation security programs for Middle Eastern nations. Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has contributed $1 million to the International Civil Aviation Organization’s “No Country Left Behind” initiative.

Al-Jasser reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s dedication to advancing ACAO’s mission and enhancing its global influence, fostering collaboration with Arab and international partners to advance the aviation sector.

Established in 1996 under the Arab League, ACAO aims to strengthen cooperation among Arab states in civil aviation development.
