RIYADH: Saudi Arabia Defense Ministry won ‘Best Crisis Management Communication Strategy’ category award of the Sharjah Government Communication award, the Saudi Press Agency reported (SPA) on Friday.
Saudi Arabia was selected among 15 global contenders for the 10th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award 2023.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, the Deputy Governor of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, personally presented the award to Abdulrahman bin Sultan, the Director General of the Department of Strategic Communication at the Ministry of Defense Agency for Strategic Affairs.
The ceremony took place at the Sharjah International Communication Center, coinciding with the conclusion of the 12th session of the International Government Communication Forum.
A panel of experts and specialists in media and government communication assessed and selected the General Directorate of Strategic Communication at the Ministry of Defense as the deserving winner.
This recognition is a testament to their commitment to excellence in government communication, the effectiveness of their communication campaign implementations, their adept use of digital platforms and local, regional, and international media to reach their target audience.
The panel also acknowledged their innovative and forward-thinking approach, as well as the tangible impact and results they have achieved.
The criteria for earning this prestigious award included the General Directorate of Strategic Communication’s successful management and implementation of communication strategies during crises.
Particularly notable was their communication campaign spotlighting the Saudi Armed Forces’ humanitarian mission to evacuate citizens and nationals of friendly countries from Sudan to the Kingdom. This mission stands as the largest humanitarian evacuation of its kind in the world.
