RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the agreement to de-escalate tension and restore diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Iran, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
According to the SPA, the ministry aims for the peaceful resolution of all differences through dialogue, in alignment with the fundamental principles of international law, including the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani during a telephonic conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian underscored the need for closer cooperation on security issues.

According to the statement Foreign Minister Jilani expressed Pakistan’s readiness to work with Iran on all issues based on spirit of shared trust and cooperation.
The Foreign Minister stressed that respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty must underpin this cooperation. He emphasized the need for closer cooperation on security issues. The two Foreign Ministers also agreed to de-escalate the situation.
Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Rasoul Mousavi said Iran adheres to the policy of good neighborliness and brotherhood between the two countries and the two governments of Iran and Pakistan.
